2024 Plant Season Has Concluded. THANK YOU For A Great Season!
We Will Resume Taking Plant Orders In The Spring, 2025!
**Edible landscaping: If you're going to landscape your property with plants, shrubs, and trees, why not use those that will provide you and your family with healthy food? **Grow your very own food forest! If you're not familiar with the food forest concept, there are many useful video resources on YouTube the can be found simply using the search term "food forest". Are you big on ambition, but short on space? A highly recommended YouTube channel is "The Gardening Channel with James Prigioni". On his channel, James produces excellent content and demonstrates how an abundance of food can be grown on just a one-ninth acre suburban backyard using food forest principles. Products found at The Berry Booth represent the understory, the shrub layer, the herbaceous layer, the root layer, the ground cover layer, and the vine layer; all the layers of a healthy food forest, except the overstory layer. **Most importantly, have more control over where your food comes from and ensure it's grown using healthy practices, all while loosening Big Ag's grip on our food supply.
Info
I am a small backyard purveyor of fruit-producing plants, shrubs, and bushes that are known to be particularly nutritious and health-promoting. As a Ph.D.-prepared registered nurse, I appreciate the evidence-based health-promoting properties of berries and other fruits that can be grown right here in Minnesota. I have included data and links to research findings under the descriptions of many of the products on this site. Aside from the healthful properties of these fruits, many of them are also extremely delicious. You can think of The Berry Booth as a virtual southeast Minnesota farmers market booth. Product and service expectations are very similar to those found among vendors at the local farmers market. One of the only differences is you can view our healthy, locally-grown products from the comfort of your own home. Decide what products you would like to purchase, add them to your cart, and conveniently pay online at checkout. Be sure to provide contact information during the check-out process so we can contact you to make arrangements for you to obtain your goods!
Local hand delivery only. We are not able to offer postal or commercial parcel shipping of products at this time. Free delivery to Olmsted county residents with orders of $50.00 or more. Free delivery to Goodhue, Wabasha, Winona, Fillmore, Mower, and Dodge counties with orders of $100 or more. Otherwise, by appointment, feel free to swing by "The Berry Booth" to pick out the plants you would like, among the selection available. If you wish to have your order delivered, the order must be placed and payment for the order must be made on this site before they will be delivered. It is preferred that the customer be present for delivery. If the customer is not present at time of delivery, the seller is not responsible for theft or any dissatisfaction with product(s) following delivery. Plants will not be available until they break dormancy, likely sometime in April, as I would like to make sure you receive healthy--Alive!--plants.
