Another variety of the Boreal series of honeyberry, Boreal Beauty fruit are considered very large, averaging 2.6 grams with the largest recorded weighing 3.6 grams. The fruits are rounded/heart shaped and firm. It begins producing fruit very quickly, about a year earlier than other varieties. In production trials that took place in Poland, it had double the yield of the other varieties in its third year! It ripens a week after Boreal Beast.
Note: For best cross-polination, the Boreal Beauty should be planted with other haskap plant(s) from the boreal series (Beast and/or Blizzard).
Young potted plants, appoximately 6 - 12 inches in height. Honeyberries tolerate a much wider range of soil acidity, up to pH neutral and even slightly alkaline. Unlike blueberries, minimal site/soil prep--if any--is needed for these plants.
